Gearboxes are used to stow loose lashing materials like twistlocks and stacking cones when not in use. To safely store and lift these boxes on and off the vessel these are stowed on 20ft or 40ft flat racks. Although not strictly required, most flatracks on board of container ships are CSC approved.
